Question:
Using Limited Slip Gear Lube in a Conventional Differential
Mobil Delvac Synthetic Gear Oil 75W-90 is approved for MB 235.8 specification. Can I use Mobil 1 Synthetic Gear Lube LS 75W-90 instead? The reason why I ask is I couldn't find the Mobil Delvac at any local part stores. My Mercedes has a conventional differential, not LSD.

Answer:
It depends on what your owner’s manual recommends for this application. If an API GL-5 gear oil is recommended, either product can be used. If gear oil approved for MB235.8 only is required, then only Mobil Delvac™ Synthetic Gear Oil should be used.
