Question:
What's the Preferred Method of Draining Oil?
I've seen an increased use in oil extraction systems that pull the oil out of the engine via the dip stick. I've heard a few say that the oil should be drained, not extracted. I believe that as long as you are changing the oil, you should be good using either method. As a faithful Mobil 1 user, which method do you recommend?

Answer:
We would recommend draining used oil versus extraction because draining would tend to get more of the residue left in the bottom of the pan. However, we think extraction is probably an acceptable method if you are changing oil in a well maintained vehicle.
