Is Mobil 1 Diesel Motor Oil Okay for the smart Car?
We have just purchased an '06 smart car with the turbo-charged .7 liter engine. While the car has just over 1,000 miles, I opted to change the oil and filter since the original oil has been in there for several years. I used the 5W-40W turbo-diesel oil. Does this product meet the Mercedes 229.5 spec and is it okay to use in my car? Please advise...

Answer:
Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck 5W-40 does not meet MB 229-5. You can instead use Mobil 1 0W-40.
