Is the Mobil 1 Installed at Dealerships the Same Product as What's Sold in Stores?
Is Mobil 1 in auto stores the same as the oil used at the Mercedes dealers? BMW uses Castrol but it is supposedly blended to BMW's specs and therefore I cannot use off the shelf Castrol synthetic. Does Mobil also make specific blend for Mercedes dealers?

Answer:
The Mobil 1 sold at retail stores is the same as that sold at Mercedes-Benz dealers, whenever the viscosity grade and name are the same. Nevertheless, we do have three products that are blended to meet specific Mercedes-Benz requirements: Mobil 1 ESP Formula M 5W-40, Mobil 1 Formula M 5W-40 and Mobil 1 ESP Formula 5W-30.
