Question:
Which Mobil 1 is Appropriate for a Supercharged Porsche
I own a 1982 Porsche 911SC. This is an air-cooled car. When I look up your recommendation, it states the 0W-40. I am concerned about Zinc and Phosphorous levels and proper lubrication (should I be?). Many owner sites recommend - 15W-50 - V-Twin 20W-50 - Racing 4T 10W-40 - Diesel Truck 5W-40. I am trying to put to rest all the misconceptions and going straight to the source. The car is driven weekly in Oregon year round. Never raced. Operating temperatures are from ~20°F to 100°F. Thanks for your response.

Answer:
We are happy to say that Mobil 1 0W-40 is the factory and service fill choice for almost all Porsche vehicles since 1995. Porsche has carefully validated that this product and viscosity are appropriate for its vehicles. Given the vintage of your vehicle, our first recommendation would be Mobil 1 High Mileage 10W-40. Mobil 1 V-Twin 20W-50 and Mobil 1 Racing 4T 10W-40 are formulated for motorcycle applications, while Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck 5W-40 is primarily used in turbocharged diesel engines.
