What Oil to Use in a Nissan 370Z?
I would like to use Mobil 1 5W-30 ESP formula not for its strict compliance with emission control systems (as designed) but because it has the ACEA A3 HTHS rating which exceeds the rating on non ESP formulations. My car is an '09 Nissan 370Z which does tend to run higher oil temperatures. Would I be ok or better off with the ESP formulated synthetic as opposed to the standard 5W-30 synthetic or the 5W-30 synthetic Extended Performance?

Answer:
All three products are outstanding oils but if it is HT/HS that you are looking for then the Mobil 1 ESP Formula 5W-30 product will provide what you want. We believe the manufacturer recommends a 5W-30 ILSAC GF-4 type oil and this product does not meet this standard. If you are concerned about warranty for any reason then you should use an ILSAC GF-4 product.
