Question:
Is Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF Correct for a Toyota Tacoma?
My 2001 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 automatic transmission according to the manufacturer requires (ATF D-II or DEXRON III (DEXRON II)). I'm an aircraft mechanic and I've used Mobil 1 synthetics in all my vehicles since 1986, including motorcycles, ATVs, Jet aircraft, etc. I would like to know if your new Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF transmission fluid would work in my Toyota transmission? I changed it last year going from Dexron II to Dexron III, and I noticed this past winter (on cold days after sitting overnight or for extended period of time) that it would slip after start up for a few minutes. This summer hasn't been a problem. Do you think Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF may help or should I go back to Dexron II? Thanks Roy H.

Answer:
We would expect Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF to help in this application.  Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF meets the requirements of Dexron II, IID, IIE, IIIG and IIIH. In addition, Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF will flow at lower temperatures than a mineral-based Dexron II or Dexron III product.
