Question:
ZDDP Levels for Mobil™ Conventional Motor Oils
Hi. I have used Mobil 1™ products only in my cars for a decade. I have recently acquired a 1928 Ford Model A that only requires non-synthetic oil with 500-mile change intervals, but the engine also requires zinc/phosphorous in the oil. What are the levels of zinc and phosphorous (zddp) in Mobil Super™ High Mileage 10W-40? Are there other 10w-40 non-synthetic products from Mobil™ that have higher levels than the Mobil Super High Mileage oil that I should also consider? Thank you, Jason
-- Jason Burton, Hinsdale, IL
Answer:
All of our high-Zinc products are advanced full synthetic oils. As for the Zinc/Phosphorus content in Mobil Super High Mileage, we formulate this oil to meet the maximum Phosphorus content allowable to meet API SN engine oil specifications (0.08 wt%).
