The 2008 R32 is Volkswagen's best equipped and very unique Golf. It has a six-cylinder engine, all wheel drive and the DSG transmission. It came to the United States in a limited run of 5,000 cars and I have one numbered 690. The only modification on the car is a Magnaflow sport exhaust which lets the VR6 engine be heard in all its uniqueness. To quote Automobile magazine, "the narrow angle V6's sweet, burbling aria sounds like a Ferrari V8 plucked straight out of a court-appointed anger-management class."
I bought the car new and have used Mobil 1 0W-40 on all my oil changes. Mobil 1 0W-40 gives me the best protection for my vehicle because it covers the wide temperature ranges I experience in Reno, NV. In the winter it is not unusual to be in single digits and during the summer the temperatures climb occasionally to triple digits.
Mobil 1 0W-40 can handle the 10,000-mile oil change intervals recommended by the manufacturer without an issue and that gives me an additional piece of mind.
