I purchased this car in July 1994. I went straight home from the dealer and changed out the oil to Mobil 1. I drive it 44 hours straight from Montana, where I have a home, to Florida every year for the Rolex 24 race (and lots of driving in between).
Cold weather starts make no other oil an option.
Taking my car to the track and running all day at 8000 rpm, then driving it home several hours, makes Mobil 1 the only option.
Mobil 1 makes my BMW engine quieter. It runs at a lower operating temperature, achieves operating temperature earlier, and gets better fuel economy. We also have a Honda Odyssey van. We put 180,000 miles on it in just two years commuting from Montana to New Jersey, and I run the 0W-20 Honda in that too.
