I have used Mobil 1 in the car since I bought it in November 1998 with 92 miles on it. I rebuilt the engine at 159,000 miles because of a leaky intake/head gasket was getting oil in my antifreeze. When I inspected the engine it still had the original cross-hatchings from the manufacturer's build so all I needed to do was replace all the bearings (cam/crank/rods) and oil pump. The timing chain and gears were also replaced. I also had a complete valve job done on the heads; the cam and lifters had No wear so we re-used them. We used same stock pistons (just installed new molly-chrome rings). This saved me about $600-$700 extra that I did not need to spend on the overhaul.
I believe this was due to the fact that Mobil 1 fully synthetic motor oil is one of the best oils on the market. My car's engine is living proof. I think it will go another 200,000 before its next overhaul. Thanks Mobil 1.
