I have used Mobil in every car (about 25 now) I have owned since 1974 when I started racing Porsches as a hobby. I have used it in my Tacoma since I have had the truck. I also use it in my current BMW and Lexus. We used to tear down Porsche engines frequently and when I saw how Mobil 1 engines looked almost new after many high performance miles, I never used anything else. There was almost no cylinder wall wear or sludge buildup using Mobil 1. I also remember the old "coking" test where you took Mobil 1 and conventional motor oil and poured both in separate frying pans, and put them on the stove at 300°. The conventional motor oil would turn to black, hardened cake while the Mobil 1 could still be "poured" out. My Toyota truck gets a lot of "pedal to the metal" miles both around town and on the interstate so I want the best engine protection I can get.
When using Mobil 1, I can tell a difference in the rpm at idle just from a fresh Mobil 1 change. The Mobil 1 full synthetic offers you a slicker, more resistance-free oil to run in your engine and when the temperature heats up, I want all the heat protection I can get , i.e. the coking test. At the same time when the temperature drops down to single digits, I feel comfortable that Mobil 1 will get to those important oiling points quicker than any other oil of the same viscosity.
Porsche used to have a saying, "there is no substitute." I feel the same goes for Mobil 1. Just last week I read an article in Autoweek about a high performance shop here in Charlotte that takes stock Lamborghinis and modifies the engine to 1000hp with a totally streetable engine. The only requirement they have in order to honor the two-year warranty with the engine is that the owner use ONLY Mobil 1 in the engine. Enough said.
