I have owned this Suburban since December 2004 as it was the dealer model. With the first oil change, I changed it to Mobil 1 5W-30, as I had done with my '96 Tahoe, my '95 Monte Carlo Z34, and '94 Mazda MX-6 beforehand. I did try Royal Purple for a while but noticed that it didn't do well for 'round town driving', so I quickly went back to Mobil 1. My girlfriend was using some other oil in her '98 Tahoe when I met her and soon after I found that out, although she had just changed the oil, I went to AutoZone the next day and bought a full Mobil 1 oil change. Her fuel mileage jumped almost 4 MPG and the truck ran much quieter and smoother, making her a believer as well. Even though I'm deployed a lot, she does the oil changes herself and it's all she uses in her '03 Silverado SS as well.
Everyone I have told about this oil has tried it, and even though complaining at first, they have used nothing but since. Other oils are good, but this oil is definitely the best...EVER!
