The Honda Insight was the first hybrid car to be sold in America. With its light weight aluminum body and the first ever integrated motor assist system attached to a lightweight 3-cylinder engine, it can reach over 70 mpg on the highway and around 60 mpg city. The Insight was truly a car way ahead of its time when introduced in 2000. I bought mine just for this reason. Less than 20,000 Insights were made. I knew I had to have one, and to protect the heart of such a unique and fascinating car, what's better than Mobil 1 0W-20 synthetic motor oil.
The first thing I did after buying the car was to switch the oil to Mobil 1 0W-20 Advanced Fuel Economy. The original oil is Honda 0W-20 but it's not a synthetic oil like Mobil 1. On a small 3-cylinder engine, you can feel any modification you do, and I could definitely feel that the engine was revving more freely and seemed to have a little more pep to it. The fuel economy also increased by about 5 mpg. I know the Insight is still currently the most fuel efficient car in America, but I know with the help of good Mobil 1 0W-20 oil, it will help keep that title. Currently at around 180,000 miles, it still runs like great.
