A previously salvaged Miata, it has been transformed into a very formidable
Spec Miata racer. It is raced by myself and my son, and has run successfully
in numerous SCCA events, including a seventh-place finish at Texas Motor
Speedway. Now that the bugs are worked out, 2005 should be an even better race
season. The engine in this car is constantly revved at 6,000+ rpm and driven
VERY hard. Since switching to Mobil 1, the engine runs cooler and sustains
those revs without any complaints. For such an older and high-mileage engine,
it is reassuring that we have one less worry on the track.
