After previously owning an automatic turbo Volvo and working on a few manual turbo Volvos at my previous job, I knew I had to have a 5-speed. I finally found this rare vehicle with low miles in Minneapolis. I drove up my old 850 T5 and traded it in for the S70 T5M. Since then I have serviced the vehicle so it is up to date with new parts. I have also added a 3" turbo-back exhaust, larger throttle body, cold air intake, blow off valve, Mookeeh boost gauge (13 PSI of boost) and strut brace. I am running 17" Volvo R wheels, a V70R front bumper and slightly tinted tails. All in all a very comfortable and fast sleeper.
I drive my cars very, very hard so I need an oil that keeps up and Mobil 1 Extended Performance is just perfect. The previous owner of the car used Castrol Syntec in the vehicle which is a decent oil. I replaced most of the engine seals, did a PCV overhaul and switched to Mobil 1 Extended Performance 10W-30. I ran this oil in my 850 and it made a huge difference! Volvo says that burning a quart of oil every 1,000 miles is acceptable, but with Mobil 1 Extended Performance I do not burn oil at all. My lifters are a lot quieter than before and the car just seems to run so much more smoothly. This motor is bulletproof, but with Mobil 1 oil in it I feel much better laying into the throttle.
